Liverpool are reportedly considering a move for Spain international and Real Madrid midfielder Marco Asensio with the Spaniard eyeing a move away from the Santiago Bernabéu this summer.

According to Mundo Deportivo via Sport Witness, Jurgen Klopp considers the Real Madrid star a genuine target if he is willing to leave the European giants.

Asensio has been offered a new contract by Los Blancos to stay and fight for a position in Carlo Ancelotti’s starting XI, however, the 26-year-old is said to be considering his options after failing to get the game time he is craving.

Nevertheless, Asensio still showed glimpses this campaign of why he can mix it with the best in Europe, he made 31 appearances, scoring 10 times in La Liga.

Asensio’s current contract runs out in 2023, meaning he could potentially leave on a free transfer next summer if Real Madrid fail to tie him down to a new contract.

Liverpool aren’t the only team from England interested in bringing Asensio to the Premier League, Manchester United are also reportedly in the running for the maestro’s signature.

Now with Nunez tied down, Asensio could provide the perfect right-hand man to the Urguyuan forward, a mouth-watering potential partnership for the Anfield faithful to dream about.

If Asensio could be secured for the right price, it would be foolish for FSG not to consider the midfielder as an option this summer, the 26-year-old has bags of talent and potential and could be moulded into something even greater by Jurgen Klopp.
