Liverpool are looking to offload several players this summer; one of the rumoured players to be leaving was Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

However, recent reports suggest Jurgen Klopp’s business in the transfer window for incoming players is over, with the club already bringing three new faces to Merseyside.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will stay to fight for his place in Liverpool’s starting XI for next season.

The 28-year-old failed to make an impression during the last campaign and despite enjoying his best form of fitness, Jurgen Klopp decided against utilising him.

Oxlade-Chamberlain featured 17 times across all competitions and mainly featured in domestic competitions like the Carabao Cup and FA Cup.

Aston Villa and West Ham were both rumoured to be keen on signing the midfielder this summer; a solid addition to their squads.

Nevertheless, due to Liverpool holding off on signing a new midfielder until 2023, the 28-year-old has been given an Anfield lifeline.

Liverpool fans will all agree that it is probably time for Oxlade-Chamberlain to move on from the club; with any money gained from a transfer fee for him to be put to better use.
