Liverpool or Wolves will face Premier League rival FA Cup Fourth Round

|

Liverpool will travel to face Wolves in a replay of their FA Cup Third Round tie, which ended in a 2-2 draw at Anfield on Saturday night.

Whichever side progresses from the replay of the game will face Brighton in the last 32 of the tournament, with a place in the last 16 available to the winner.

The Reds looked much sharper going forward in comparison to the attacking performances against Brentford and Leicester City, with Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah both getting on the scoresheet.

However, the defense once again looked incredibly shaky with very little protection from a ghost-like midfield three.

Thiago Alcantara made more tackles (6) than Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita and Harvey Elliott combined together.

A rare error from Alisson Becker gifted the opening goal to Goncalo Guedes to end his 30-game run without a goal.

Ibou Konate looked shaky once again and could’ve been more convincing on Wolves’ second goal.

New January signing, Cody Gakpo, was selected in the starting lineup partnering Nunez and Salah in a front three.

The 23-year-old showed glimpses of real promise and was heavily involved in Salah’s goal to put the Reds ahead temporarily, but the forward himself even described his overall performance as “sloppy” after the game.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have a week to prepare to face Brighton in the Premier League before preparing for the midweek replay against Wolves on the 17th of January.
