Starting XI Prediction: Liverpool v Wolves

|

Liverpool host Wolves in the FA Cup Third Round on Saturday night, with many expecting Jurgen Klopp to name a rotated side for this one.

Here is the lineup we expect Klopp to go with:

Goalkeeper- Alisson Becker

Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that the Brazilian will stay in between the sticks for the rest of the season unless he suffers an injury.

This tells me that backup keeper Caoimhin Kelleher will look to leave the club in the summer.

Defence- Gomez, Konate, Matip, Tsimikas

Joe Gomez will come in to give Trent a rest after playing every game since returning from the World Cup with England.

With Virgil Van Dijk out for at least a month, Ibou Konate and Joel Matip will partner each other at the heart of Klopp’s defence.

Kostas Tsimikas will start again at left-back after being hooked off at half-time against Brentford.

Midfield- Fabinho, Bajectic, Henderson

Fabinho will sit at the base of the midfield once again, whilst Stefan Bajcetic comes in ahead of him after his fantastic performance and goal against Aston Villa on Boxing Day.

The captain, Jordan Henderson, will also return to the starting lineup meaning Thiago Alcantara and Harvey Elliott can have a rest.

Forwards- Oxlade-Chamberlain, Nunez, Carvalho

Following his goal against Brentford, Oxlade-Chamberlain will start on the right side of attack but Klopp will be aware of the amount of minutes he has played in recent weeks.

Darwin Nunez will start down the middle as he continues to look for a goal to boost his confidence after a hard past month and Klopp also doesn’t really have a choice.

On the left, Fabio Carvalho will start after getting limited gametime since his last appearance against Manchester City before Christmas which he scored in.

Bench- Kelleher, Ramsay, Phillips, Robertson, Thiago, Elliott, Gakpo, Firmino, Salah.
