Liverpool star ‘would like to play for a Spanish club’

|

Liverpool winger, Luis Diaz, has opened up on childhood dreams of playing football in Spain, according to The Liverpool Echo.

The winger joined Liverpool less than a year ago in the January transfer window from Porto for a fee of around £37.5million.

Diaz instantly became a fan favourite at Anfield, playing with lots of energy, flair and a passion that would sit well with any football fan.

Despite his good start to life on Merseyside, the winger has opened up on what the future could hold, saying: “I would like to play for a Spanish club, that has always attracted my family’s attention, but it is more of a childish dream.”

Many fans reacted shocked to the admission, with most questioning what the need for saying something like that is, but many defended the forward saying it’s to be expected as most South American players dream of playing for Real Madrid or Barcelona.

The winger also claimed that: “Now I only think about lifting trophies and making history with Liverpool, which is one of the biggest clubs in the world. I am very grateful for the opportunity they have given me.”

Hopefully, us Liverpool fans will see Luis Diaz lift many more trophies after he came so close to lifting the quadruple just four months after joining the Reds.
