Liverpool stars nominated for UEFA’s TheBest Awards

|

Following a successful 2022, which saw Liverpool win more matches than any other club in Europe, a number of players have been nominated for UEFA’s TheBest Awards.

The Best Men’s Player:

Mohamed Salah is the only current Liverpool star to be nominated in ‘The Best Men’s Player’ category, due to his stunning form throughout the year.

The Egyptian King won the FA Cup and Carabao Cup under Jurgen Klopp as well as reaching the UEFA Champions League final.

Salah also led Egypt to the final of the African Cup of Nations last year too.

Former Red, Sadio Mane has also been nominated for his performances for Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Senegal.

Another interesting name is Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham who has been linked with a move to Merseyside throughout the whole of last year.

Other names on the list included: Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, Neymar Jr, Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne, Robert Lewandowski and many more.

The Best Men’s Goalkeeper:

Liverpool’s number one, Alisson Becker, has been nominated for the goalkeeping award and in my opinion should be the favourite to win the trophy.

For me, only Real Madrid’s Thibaut Courtois gets close to Alisson but that’s mainly for just his performance in the Champions League Final which was unfortunately world-class.

However, over the course of the year I think most people would agree that Alisson has been the best goalkeeper in the world.

Manchester City’s Ederson, Sevilla’s Yassine Bounou and Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez round off the rest of the nominations for this category.
