Some Liverpool supporters have been reacting to a prediction made by journalist James Pearce on the future of midfielder Marko Grujic at Anfield.
The Serbia international is currently into his second year on loan at the Bundesliga outfit Hertha Berlin as he continues to rack up the minutes playing first-team football.
Grujic has found himself ostracised in Jurgen Klopp’s set up and went to Cardiff City on loan as well as Die Alte Dame. Saying that, Grujic was the German tactician’s first signing since he became the boss in 2015.
Should Marko Grujic stay at Liverpool?
Yes
No
Answering questions from fans on The Athletic’s Q&A, Pearce said that it is difficult to see the 23-year-old sticking around next season, and the Reds could try and generate a fee for around £25m for his services from any interested club.
With this in mind, supporters believed that it would be the best option to sell Grujic in the summer and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan said that sporting director Michael Edwards would be a genius if he could pull this deal off.
Fabinho, Henderson, Keïta, Gini, Ox, Milner, Curtis there’s not really a space for him. Would take 25 mil https://t.co/yyGEFMDhjC

Yeah I said this a while ago. Not good enough and 25m will do us nicely https://t.co/0Vh1aKyMPQ

It’s best for both parties.

Fairs as long as the money is well invested in the team, we are negotiating with the strongest hand we’ve had in a long time and I’d hate for people to just think we’ll steamroll the league every year players are ageing

Michael Edward’s is a genius if he pulls that off https://t.co/05lX0gUr9E

We need an addition at forward, some depth at the back + renew some current contracts. Plenty of opportunity here. Apparently we have little interest in signing another midfielder even with Grujic and Lallana’s imminent departures.
