Responding to Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp’s quotes surrounding Dejan Lovren, as relayed by reliable journalist James Pearce, many Reds supporters have lambasted the Croatia international – calling him ‘mediocre‘ and a ‘liability’.
Lovren, who has started just nine Premier League games alongside Virgil van Dijk this season, with fellow centre-backs Joe Gomez and Joel Matip preferred over the 31-year-old, is now at the centre of criticism from a section of the fan base after Klopp backed his man.
Should Liverpool sell Dejan Lovren?
Yes, get it done
No, still has more to prove
Indeed, the Reds boss sticking up for our ‘reliable’ defender hasn’t gone down well on social media – with supporters making it clear that they disagree.
Since putting pen-to-paper on a £20 million deal from Southampton back in the summer of 2014, he has made 185 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions, but after years of service, his contract looks set to expire in 2021 with no sign of a new deal.
Here’s how Reds slammed the £100,000-per-week centre-back on social media.
In other words don’t expect a signing this summer to replace Lovren-who at best has been mediocre

Copied and pasted from last summer. He’s a liability who’s showed no improvement under klopp.

And we need him to leave 👍

does Klopp watch the same Lovren as us?

The one thing that Dejan Lovren has never been and never will be is reliable, he is in the same bracket as David Luiz.

Absolutely love you Jurgen and everything you’ve done and are doing for the club. You’ve earned the right not to have your transfer policy questioned by anyone and so I won’t but I fundamentally disagree with everything in this statement, the guy is a complete & utter liability.

He’s been a loyal servant for the club but it’s time to move on. Get Nathan Ake as his replacement
