In football, one game can be the difference between a player becoming a hero or a villain, and for Dejan Lovren, the Croatian international definitely falls into the latter category.

The former Southampton defender was ridiculed to no end by Liverpool fans on Saturday night following his trainwreck of a performance against Watford which saw Jurgen Klopp’s side lose their first league game of the season and snap their incredible unbeaten run, the second-best in English football history.

And with Liverpool playing Chelsea tonight, a handful of fans on social media were keen on Lovren for being left out of the starting XI as the Reds aim to be only the second team in English history to win the treble.
