Aston Villa’s contract negotiations with prodigy Charney Chukwuemeka have broken down, alerting top clubs from around Europe including Liverpool of his availability.

The Telegraph’s Mike McGrath announced the development in the 18-year-old’s future on Monday evening, suggesting the youngster wanted out of life at Steven Gerrard’s Villa.

The report states that Chukwuemeka has been left out of Villa’s pre-season tour of Australia after “rejecting” their latest contract offer.

The England under-19 international is valued at £20 million by Villa, but it’s his wage demands that might prove to be a stumbling block for the Liverpool hierarchy.

Barcelona have reportedly already made a bid for the 18-year-old and are currently frontrunners to sign the talented youngster.

Villa will almost definitely want to cash out on their prodigy given his desire to leave the club, but it remains to be seen whether or not Jurgen Klopp’s team will make a concrete offer.

The starlet certainly fits the bill for the type of talent Liverpool would recruit, but his lack of Premier League experience would be worrying given the players reported wage demands.
