Rescheduled fixture adds to Liverpool fixture congestion

|

Liverpool have confirmed the new date for their Premier League fixture against Wolverhampton Wanderers, as announced on theĀ club website.

The two sides were supposed to play each other in September, but the fixture was postponed due to the death of Her Majesty The Queen.

Now the club has confirmed that the new date for the fixture is Wednesday the 1st of March, scheduled for an 8pm kick-off.

Slotting in between the two legs against Real Madrid in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League, the end of February into the start of March is proving to become a bit chaotic for Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool will play ten games in 35 days, spread across the UEFA Champions League and the Premier League.

Here is a list of Liverpool’s fixtures over the next month:

  • Monday 13th February- Liverpool v Everton
  • Saturday 18th February- Newcastle United v Liverpool
  • Tuesday 21st February- Liverpool v Real Madrid
  • Saturday 25th February- Crystal Palace v Liverpool
  • Wednesday 1st March- Liverpool v Wolverhampton Wanderers
  • Sunday 5th March- Liverpool v Manchester United
  • Saturday 11th March- Bournemouth v Liverpool
  • Wednesday 15th March- Real Madrid v Liverpool
  • Saturday 18th March- Liverpool v Fulham

It will definitely be interesting to see what Jurgen Klopp thinks about Liverpool’s upcoming schedule, as they try to push one last time to try and make it into the top four.

The game against Wolves will definitely be an interesting one, with the two sides already meeting on three occasions this season.

The results from those games were:

  • Liverpool 2-2 Wolverhampton Wanderers (FA Cup)
  • Wolverhampton Wanderers 0-1 Liverpool (FA Cup Replay)
  • Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-0 Liverpool (Premier League)

Liverpool will definitely be looking to put things right in their next meeting against the Midlands side and hopefully they can turn their season around after the thrashing at the weekend.
