Liverpool are in advanced talks over a new short-term contract with forward, Roberto Firmino, according to the reliable transfer specialist, Fabrizio Romano.
The Brazilian’s current contract is set to expire at the end of the season, but Jurgen Klopp is reportedly keen on keeping the striker longer.
Firmino’s agent, Roger Wittmann claims: “We’re on the right track. We’re having really good talks with Liverpool.”

The 31-year-old was Liverpool’s best player in the first half of the season, before picking up an injury that has kept him sidelined since before the Qatar World Cup.
Firmino scored seven goals and assisted three in 13 Premier League appearances for the Reds this season, despite many of those appearances being from the bench.
The number nine also scored two goals and assisted one in the Champions League group stage.
Jurgen Klopp has always trusted Firmino to be a key player in his Liverpool sides, with the Brazilian making a massive 348 appearances for the Reds since his arrival in 2015.
Despite often being dismissed as a direct goal threat, the forward has still managed to score 107 goals and asissted 78 throughout his Liverpool career.
After three months out injured, Firmino is expected to return to team training this week along with Virgil Van Dijk, as Klopp hopes the duo will be fit to play a part against Real Madrid in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League.
