Liverpool getting mixed signals from Bellingham

|

Liverpool fans have received mixed news regarding the pursuit of their main midfield target, Jude Bellingham. German football writer Patrik Berger spoke on the meinsportpodcast and has reported via r/Liverpoolfc, where he stated that Bellingham is uncertain about his future due to Liverpool’s current position in the Premier League table, sitting at the top of the bottom half of the table in 10th position.

However, Berger also mentioned that Dortmund is prepared to offer the 19-year-old Englishman a whopping €15 million per season, making him the highest-paid player in the club. Meanwhile, PSG and Chelsea have been ruled out as potential suitors. However, Real Madrid and Manchester City are still rivaling Liverpool to get his signature.

That being said, Berger in his GOAL Germany column said that he considers Liverpool to be the frontrunner for Bellingham’s signature, but if they were in the Champions League, he believes the midfielder would have already made a decision. With the way things are going, where Liverpool finishes this season is likely to be an important factor in the decision-making for Bellingham and his camp regarding his future.

This season, Bellingham has been one of Dortmund’s top performers, with 8 goal contributions (4 goals and 4 assists) to his name. He has also impressed with England in their recent World Cup run out in Qatar.

In summary, Liverpool is still in the race to sign Bellingham, but the player’s hesitation due to Liverpool’s current league position is a hindrance. Bellingham’s impressive performances for Dortmund and England make him a highly sought-after player. Still, the ultimate decision will rest on whether he believes Liverpool can offer him the best platform for his future career.
