Three potential Liverpool buyers – Opinion

FSG has put Liverpool up for sale. There are a few internationally renowned businessmen who are interested in buying this solid sporting project.

Mukesh Ambani with a net worth of $91+ billion has the financial power to buy Liverpool. Rumours are he tried to buy Liverpool in 2010, 2017, 2018, and 2021. Whether this deal goes through or not is a doubt. There is no official word from either Mukesh Ambani or Liverpool Football Club.

Ambani owns the Mumbai Indians a cricketing franchise that plays in the Indian Premier League. Mumbai Indians are the most successful cricket franchise in India. They also own the Indian Super League and are working hard on establishing football in India. This kind of deal will help ensure that the football focus in India improves as well as Liverpool’s presence in the Asian subcontinent goes up a notch.

Other than Ambani, a couple of other potential buyer names have been floating around on social media. They are Sir Jim Ratcliffe (also previously interested in buying Manchester United) and the Prince of Dubai. The latter apparently has the firmest interest with a deal already on the table. But this is unconfirmed news.

The sale of the club will certainly have direct monetary implications on things like transfer budgets, players’ wages, and contracts which is something that the FSG ownership is not able to do as compared to some other rival clubs like Manchester City, Chelsea, Manchester United, and now most recently Newcastle.

I am really passionate when it comes to football, especially Liverpool Football Club. Apart from this, I indulge in long hours of conversation with my friends (about football), drink (watching football), and sleep (dreaming about football). Other than that, I work with a 360-degree digital marketing agency as the lead SEO Content Strategist.

All this assumption that millions will be rolling in! If FSG is selling, that firm will get the money! Extra finance for Liverpool would be a different matter.
