Two Liverpool stars named in Brazil’s World Cup squad

|

Liverpool players, Alisson Becker and Fabinho, have both been included in Brazil’s squad for the upcoming Qatar World Cup, whilst Roberto Firmino surprisingly misses out.

The ‘Lighthouse’ will link up with the likes of Manchester United’s Casemiro and Fred, Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimaraes and West Ham United’s Lucas Paqueta.

Alisson will face competition from the likes of Manchester City’s Ederson and Palmeiras’ Weverson, who will all be fighting for the number one shirt.

Firmino has been in superb form so far this season, scoring eight goals and creating four assists so far this season and has been one of the best forwards in the world for the past six or seven years.

Despite his good form, Brazil manager Adenor Leonardo Bachi has decided to leave Firmino out of the squad, meaning the striker will join up with Liverpool’s training camp in Dubai.

Instead, Bachi has decided to go with the following forwards in his World Cup squad:

Antony (Manchester United), Gabriel Jesus (Arsenal), Gabriel Martinelli (Arsenal), Neymar (PSG), Pedro (Flamengo), Raphinha (Barcelona), Richarlison (Tottenham), Rodrygo (Real Madrid), Vinicius Jr. (Real Madrid).

The likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jordan Henderson face anxious waits to find out whether they will be on the plane to Qatar.
