According to a report from L’Equipe, Liverpool are very interested in signing Lille striker Victor Osimhen – with manager Jurgen Klopp reportedly becoming a huge admirer of the player – but many Reds supporters are mixed over the link to this potential ‘Origi 2.0‘.
Osimhen, who has impressed for the Ligue 1 side this season, scoring 13 goals in 25 league starts for the club, can also dominate defenders in the air – with the 21-year-old reigning superior in 4.4 aerial duels per game on average according to WhoScored.
The Nigerian has also managed an impressive 3.2 shots per game, more than the likes of Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane – with only Mohamed Salah bettering that total in the Premier League.
Should Liverpool sign Osimhen?
Yes, get the deal done
No, far too expensive
However, despite his noteworthy stats, Osimhen could come at a high price – with Napoli offering a €80 million (£72 million) fee for his services.
It’s debatable whether Liverpool can compete with such a bid, prompting supporters to discuss the merit of a move on Twitter.

He’s costing Napoli like €70m. Behave. He’s using us to get a better contract. https://t.co/ycMo4fAJuf

Shouldn’t be a problem 😂 he’s more than Werner

Should Origi, Shaq & Wilson leave, signing Osimhen and promoting Brewster, Takumi & Elliott could be worthwhile. Not the biggest champions statement, but if it works a full from 3 can replace the current from within the squad, with reasonable spending. If not spend in 2021
