Speaking on the Footballer’s Football Podcast, West Ham United striker Michail Antonio claims that Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham should join Liverpool.
The 19-year-old wonderkid has been heavily linked with a move to Merseyside for a long time and his stunning performances for England at the Qatar World Cup has only increased the demand for the youngster.
Europe’s biggest clubs have all been linked with Bellingham, with Real Madrid, PSG and Manchester City mainly joining the race alongisde the Reds.
Despite this, Antonio backs Bellingham to come to the Premier League and believes Liverpool could be a good option.
The Hammers striker said: “I’ve changed my mind by the way. If he comes to Liverpool with what they’ve done, they’ve kept Salah and stuff like that, they will rebuild and come good again.”
Liverpool have suffered severely from their midfield issues so far this season, with the Reds currently sat 9th in the Premier League.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita and James Milner are all currently set to leave the club in the summer as their contracts end, whilst Arthur Melo will return to Juventus as his loan ends.
This will leave a huge gap in the Liverpool squad where at least two younger midfielder need to be signed either in January or in the summer.
Especially considering the current age profile of the likes of Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and Thiago Alcantara.
Bellingham could be the player to completely transform this Liverpool side and get it back on track to challenging for the Premier League and the Champions League.
