Rafa Benitez is looking forward to buying in the January transfer window – but he’s not out to buy for the buying sake.
The boss likened the current Liverpool team to that of a ‘table with three legs’ with the ‘final leg’ an important part to the way the team will shape.
In a comical way Benitez said: ‘I always say it is like having a table with three legs – and you need to get the other one to fit properly. If you want to build a team, you have to get the one that fits in.’
It means that there will hopefully be no more impulsive buys for players who arent up to scratch with Benitez only buying quality. He added: ‘Every signing is important but now we are in a good position it is even more so. We want to grow and we want to be positive.’
