Dortmund have set Jude Bellingham asking price

|

One of the world’s worst kept secrets is the fact that Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool are huge admirers of English midfielder Jude Bellingham. The young 20-year-old star is currently playing for Klopp’s previous managerial employers, Borussia Dortmund. There is wide hope that his relationship with the club and the fact that Bellingham has a great relationship with Liverpool’s English talent could help push the transfer through.

Liverpool has not invested heavily in their midfield for quite a while now. Over the past few windows, FSG has spent money on employing talent in attack and defence. They have shown that they will splash the cash if the right talent is available. Jude and Liverpool feel like the perfect fit for each other.

Before Liverpool’s pre-season tour of Thailand and  Singapore in July, Klopp was questioned about being linked to Bellingham in an interview. He responded in a perfect Klopp fashion with a grin, saying, “He’s not on the market, so that’s the first problem with that player. Actually, it is the only problem with this player.”

According to reports from The Athletic, Borussia Dortmund has set a price for Bellingham. They value the player at about £131 million (€150m). This kind of fee will make history as it will make Bellingham the most expensive English transfer ever.

It remains to be seen whether Jude Bellingham pushes for a move during the next summer transfer window. There are a number of European giants looking for his signature. Other than Liverpool, Chelsea, Real Madrid and both Manchester clubs have shown interest.

Jude is expected to be a sure-shot starter for England in the World Cup. His cost may go up if he has a good tournament, and so might his wage demands.

This is a transfer saga that promises to have an exciting end.
