Former Liverpool forward Robbie Fowler believes that new club-record signing Darwin Nunez can solve a problem that the Reds suffered from last season.
Fowler believes the Uryguyan forward will help Liverpool against low-block sides in the Premier League and Uefa Champions League.
Nunez’s arrival at Anfield comes as a welcome relief after talisman Sadio Mane departed the club to join Bundesliga juggernauts Bayern Munich last month.
Fowler believes that Nunez will not only fill the boots that Mane has left on Merseyside but also create space for fellow forwards Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz to score more goals.

Speaking to bettingexpert, the forward explained how the forward brings more than just goals to Anfield and will make Liverpool’s frontline even more formidable next season.
“Now we’ve got a player obviously in Nunez who can come maybe this side of the defenders (play beyond the defenders). This should be obvious for a striker, but sometimes when you are this way, it makes the defenders want to roam backwards. It creates space for certain other players (in the middle) in these roles here. This has been played for years here, which obviously condenses the play. Nunez is a little bit of that player, he can play off the shoulder.”
“The signs in terms of players, it is position specifics. It is bringing others into the game, it is knowing the fact that if the ball goes here you can hold it off, and you can bring other players into it. A good striker will always be the one who can hold it, feed others and then get himself into the box, for a cross or for a forward pass.”
It’s nice to hear the former Liverpool forwards high opinion of Nunez and the fact he thinks he can fit into Liverpool’s system with relative ease only adds fuel to the fire that the 23-year-old will hit the ground running for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
