Former Liverpool players convinced they’re a Premier League Champion

|

Former Liverpool players Lucas Leiva and Jose Enrique have both took to twitter to ask the question on every supporter’s minds.

Yesterday morning the Premier League announced that they believed Manchester City to have been breaking financial fair play rules over the past fifteen years.

Many have began to speculate that City could have their titles from that time frame stripped, which would mean they would lose three Premier League titles.

Assuming that the title would be given to whoever finished second, Liverpool would be given a Premier League title from the 2013/14 season.

Which has led to the former Reds to jokingly hint on social media.

Former full-back, Jose Enrique, appeared a bit more confident in his response to the allegations against Manchester City.

In the 2013/14 season, the Reds were managed by current Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers but narrowly lost out on the title after the infamous Steven Gerrard slip against Chelsea and the collapse at Selhurst Park against Crystal Palace.

Not only would Enrique and Leiva be awarded a Premier League medal, but so would the rest of the squad, meaning:

  • Steven Gerrard would be a Premier League champion.
  • Luis Suarez would be a Premier League champion.
  • Jordan Henderson would become a four-time Premier League champion.
  • Raheem Sterling would lose all of his titles at Manchester City and would instead just have the one at Liverpool.
  • Brendan Rodgers would have infact broke Liverpool’s title drought, not Jurgen Klopp.
