According to an exclusive report from le10sport, Liverpool have set Timo Werner as one of their ‘top priorities‘, but only for next summer if one of our main front three are dropped – with some Reds supporters not exactly satisfied over the update.
Werner, who has scored an impressive 21 goals in 25 starts Bundesliga starts for RB Leipzig this term, is currently at the centre of heavy Liverpool transfer links – with this latest report claiming that manager Jurgen Klopp is ‘personally involved’ over a potential move for the player.
Should Liverpool swoop for Werner next summer?
No, we need him right now
Yes, global pandemic has destroyed the market
Past reports have also indicated that Klopp had ‘meetings scheduled‘ to sign his compatriot, with Werner displaying a fondness towards the Reds over these past few months.
A piece from Sky Sports outlined that the 24-year-old considers our manager as the ‘best coach in the world‘ and believes our style of play would suit him.
However, as per le10sport, Michael Edwards and Fenway Sports Group could only be interested next summer rather than in the upcoming transfer window, leaving supporters very dissatisfied.
Here’s what they had to say on Twitter.
Shocking if don’t spend for 3rd summer in a row, pandemic or not, FSG should go if that happens

That’s an extremely small club mentality mindset
Let’s hope it’s nonsense

Yabba dabba doo…always great news. It’s best we just don’t sign someone for 5 years in a row. Surely other clubs won’t catch up to us 👍

He’ll have been picked up by then, he’s already had words with Barca and Inter so if we don’t get him this summer, he won’t wait
