Responding to a piece by the Daily Mirror which outlines Philippe Coutinho’s drop in valuation since leaving Liverpool, a handful of Reds supporters have come up with the idea of bringing him back to Anfield on a cut price.
This comes after the Mirror also revealed that Barcelona look increasingly likely to loan the player out again next season, with the Brazilian playmaker currently on a temporary spell at Bayern Munich.
According to WhoScored, Coutinho has started just 15 games this season in the Bundesliga, despite his fairly consistent return of eight goals and six assists from midfield when given the opportunity.
Coutinho has also registered an 84% pass accuracy in that time, with news of his valuation drop prompting some of our fans to suggest we offer him a way back to Merseyside.#
Should Liverpool re-sign Coutinho?
Absolutely
No way
Some supporters even hinted the swoop is an ‘absolute no brainer‘ despite the 27-year-old’s Anfield exit through unceremonious circumstances.
Here’s what they had to say on social media.
Edwards to sign Coutinho on a 2yr season loan deal this summer with option to buy
After loan deal expires , Coutinho Barca contract runs out and FSG sign him on a free lol— nomad@XXX (@nomad56060053) April 13, 2020
