Liverpool’s slow start to the Premier League season continued at Old Trafford last night, with the club falling to a 2-1 defeat to Manchester United.

The performance last night topped off a host of sluggish games from Jurgen Klopp’s men, who have seemed to have lost their mojo in recent weeks.

The Red’s main men have all weighed in on what they think has gone wrong but are emphasising the point that they have to stick together.

Speaking to Sky Sports via Liverpool’s official club website, Andy Robertson gave his verdict on the loss at Old Trafford and Liverpool’s recent poor form.

“Obviously not great. It’s definitely not been the start to the season that we wanted, it’s been really poor. We give every team a goal start which is the basis of the game, you can’t keep on giving yourself an uphill battle. We’ve conceded an early goal again, we’ve started slow again and that’s what needs to change.” Said the Liverpool full-back.

Robertson reiterated the fact that the club can’t keep giving teams headstarts in games and going one behind is becoming a far too often occurrence.

“We can’t keep going one behind. Probably in the warm-up [tonight] it was the quietest I have ever heard this stadium – they wanted something to lift them and we unfortunately gave them it and then they obviously got behind their team.”

The Scotland international went on to say how he’s unsure as to why the Reds have been starting so slow in games but it needs to be sorted out quickly.

“No, but we need to very quickly. We need to come together, we need to address it as a team because we can’t keep going out there… it is easy talking about it in the changing room, it’s easy talking about it before the game, but we have to go out and do it.”

Liverpool faces AFC Bournemouth on Saturday at Anfield, the perfect game to turn their fortunes around and give themselves a fresh start to the Premier League campaign.
