Klopp names Mo Salah on the bench as Liverpool face Wolves

|

Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp, has named eight changes as his side face Wolves in the replay of their FA Cup Third Round tie, after the 2-2 draw two weeks ago.

Stars like Mohamed Salah, Alisson Becker, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Andy Robertson, Fabinho and Jordan Henderson all drop out of the starting eleven.

Darwin Nunez hasn’t recovered enough to be involed in this one, but should make it in time for the weekend.

Henderson and Alexander-Arnold don’t even make the bench for this one, getting a full night off ahead of Saturday’s clash with Chelsea.

Both James Milner and Stefan Bajcetic start as they return from minor injuries for this one.

Perhaps surprisingly, Thiago Alcantara starts in midfield despite playing nearly every minute since Christmas.

Caoimhin Kelleher is brought in from the cold having not played since Liverpool’s defeat to Manchester City in December.

The same goes for Fabio Carvalho, who hasn’t featured since scoring at the Etihad in the 3-2 defeat.

Carvalho will play on the left-wing, with new signing Cody Gakpo down the middle and Harvey Elliott on the right-hand side.

Liverpool Lineup:

Caoimhin Kelleher, James Milner (C), Joe Gomez, Ibou Konate, Kostas Tsimikas, Stefan Bajcetic, Thiago Alcantara, Naby Keita, Harvey Elliott, Cody Gakpo, Fabio Carvalho.

Bench- Alisson Becker, Joel Matip, Nathaniel Phillips, Andy Robertson, Fabinho, Curtis Jones, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Ben Doak, Mohamed Salah.
