Liverpool to face Celtic in Legends game at Anfield

|

Liverpool’s Legends side have found out who their next opponent will be, with the Reds facing Celtic Legends at Anfield in 2023.

The game is scheduled for the 25th of March, with all proceeds raised from the match supporting a range of LFC Foundation charities.

Six legend games have been held at Anfield so far, raising £5million for charity so far and hopefully this game will contribute even more towards that amazing figure.

Liverpool and Celtic have been linked both on and off the pitch throughout history, due to the similarities in perspectives, players, managers and of course, the anthem that is “You’ll Never Walk Alone.”

Lineups for the game will be announced over the coming weeks and months, with the likes of Steven Gerrard, Robbie Fowler and Xabi Alonso playing in the past with Sir Kenny Dalglish and Ian Rush managing the side.

Speaking to Liverpool FC’s Official Site, the Chief Executive of the LFC Foundation, said: “I’m always overwhelmed by the support and generosity we receive that enables us to support more young people, children and families underserved communities across the Liverpool City region and beyond.”

Tickets go on sale to Season Ticket Holders at 1pm today, with a members sale and a general sale to follow in the next two days.
