Liverpool identify Juventus winger as Mo Salah replacement

|

Liverpool have reportedly identified Juventus winger, Federico Chiesa, as a potential replacement if Mohamed Salah leaves the club in the summer.

This is according to Calciomercato, who claim that Jurgen Klopp might be willing to sell the Egyptian King in the summer whilst he is still worth around £70million.

It is reported that Paris Saint-Germain would be the favourites to sign the Egyptian King and would likely be this summer as Liverpool think his stock will only decrease from here.

Salah has had a mixed season so far, with just seven goals and four assists in eighteen appearances for the Reds in Premier League.

In contrast to his domestic form, Salah is the current top goalscorer in the Champions League with seven goals in six games, ahead of the likes of Erling Haaland, Lionel Messi and Robert Lewandowski.

In all competitions, the Egyptian is on 17 goals and 5 assists which is hardly a bad return.

Juventus’ Federico Chiesa has become one of the best wingers in the world since bursting onto the scene for Italy at Euro 2020.

After returning from a ruptured cruciate ligament, Chiesa has scored just one goal in eight games although many have been substitute appearances.

However, it’s hard to argue against the 25-year-old’s clear ability with 35 goal involvements in 69 games for Juventus.

Personally, I wouldn’t even be considering letting Salah leave whilst we still have major issues with the midfield and the likes of Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez are yet to really kick on at Anfield.
