Liverpool interested in Dortmund’s Youssoufa Moukoko

|

Given the entire investment saga, there are a lot of eyeballs on how things are going to change for Liverpool in the near future. However, whether Liverpool gets new owners or an injection of investment through the sale of a minority stake, they certainly need to look at adding some fresh legs to an aging and injury-prone squad.  The recent transfer rumour according to Sport, is that Liverpool is interested in signing Youssoufa Moukoko from Borussia Dortmund in the upcoming January winter transfer window.

The 17-year-old German has become the youngest player to score ten league goals in the Bundesliga. This has helped earn him a call-up into the German national side to be a part of the World Cup squad that heads to Qatar later this month.

Youssoufa Moukoko would cost over €30 million, an amount Liverpool will most likely be able to match and be willing to pay. He is considered to be one of the highest-rated talents in Europe, another rising star.

Moukoko’s current contract with Borussia Dortmund expires in June 2023 meaning Dortmund might look to offload him and get as much money as possible in the next window or risk losing him for free in the summer.

However, this signing could be a tricky one as Dortmund will surely not let Liverpool take two of their youngest stars in the same window in the form of Jude Bellingham and Moukoko. It will be interesting to see how Liverpool proceeds with both these transfer targets and whether they can leverage the good relationship that they have with Dortmund.
