With the number of injury problems that stare Liverpool in the face, it is only normal for them to be linked to players who they can purchase in the upcoming transfer window. That being said, Liverpool is linked with a transfer for Jeremy Doku, the 20-year-old Belgian attacker/winger with whom they were previously linked.

However, this rumour seems to be one that has just recircled from previously with no confirmed interest. This is being said because Doku has been one of the most injury-prone players in Ligue 1. He ended up missing 34 matches since August 2021.

Also, the Reds seem quite alright in the attacking department with Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz all having a long time left on their contracts. Roberto Firmino however is in the last year of his contract. His future is still undecided. Doku will certainly be a great replacement for Firmino if he decides to move on.

Also, the area that needs immediate attention is the midfield. Given that Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade Chamberlin and Thiago Alcantara are injury-prone, Fabhin is out of form and James Milner, even though one of Jurgen Klopp’s favourite is entering the last couple of years of his playing career.

Doku, who is still young and has a lot of time ahead of him to fulfil his potential, a move to Liverpool at this time does not seem to be an ideal decision for either party. This transfer link can be attributed to a transfer report on Calciomercato.

This in all honesty seems to be a transfer link that might not bear fruit anytime soon.
