Liverpool linked with move for three Chelsea midfielders

Liverpool could reportedly look to take advantage of Chelsea’s decision to sell numerous key players in the summer transfer window.

This is according to reports from The Daily Express, who claim that Liverpool could be interested in signing Mateo Kovacic or Conor Gallagher from the blues in the next transfer window.

With Chelsea splashing £600million on 18 new signings in the last six months, they will be forced into letting a few of their regulars from Thomas Tuchel’s squad leave.

Kovacic and Gallagher has been named as likely departures, with the latter nearly securing a deadline day move to Newcastle or Everton in January.

Veteran midfielder, N’Golo Kante, has also been named as a potential option to help reinvent Jurgen Klopp’s midfield.

The Frenchman’s current contract is set to expire in June after a magnificent seven years at Stamford Bridge, where he has won the Premier League and the Champions League as well as winning the World Cup with France in that time.

However, the 31-year-old doesn’t quite match the age profile that the club would likely be looking at signing with that area of the squad already heavily ageing with Jordan Henderson, Thiago Alcantara, Fabinho and James Milner 0nly getting older.

Personally, I think Mateo Kovacic could prove to be a fantastic signing for the Reds and would fit the pressing style that Klopp loves to utilise.
