Liverpool are at St James’ Park this lunchtime for an intriguing league clash with fellow Capital One Cup quarter-finalists Newcastle United.

As expected, both sides make a number of changes to the teams that secured places in the last eight in midweek.

Simon Mignolet, Martin Skrtel, Steven Gerrard and Raheem Sterling are amongst the numerous players Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has restored to his starting line-up.

Opposite number Alan Pardew selects fit-again top scorer Papiss Cisse with support coming from Sammy Ameobi.

At the time of writing, 44% of Vital Liverpool users, who voted in our prediction poll, have gone for a Liverpool win whereas 34% are plumping for The Magpies and 22% for the draw.

The game is scheduled for a 12.45pm BST kick-off and will be broadcast live in the UK on BT Sport.
