Liverpool are in Spain this evening for Matchday 4 of this season’s Champions League group phase.

Ahead of a Premier League fixture with Chelsea on Saturday, and with tonight’s result against runaway Group B leaders Real Madrid unlikely to affect their chances of progressing, Kop boss Brendan Rodgers has elected to rotate his troops.

The most notable absentees are Steven Gerrard and Raheem Sterling, with starts handed to Kolo Toure, Emre Can, Lazar Markovic and Fabio Borini amongst others.

Opposite number Carlo Ancelotti’s chooses not to start fit-again world record signing Gareth Bale. Isco therefore retains his place from the side that brushed Liverpool aside 3-0 at Anfield just a fortnight ago.

At the time of writing, 70% of Vital Liverpool users, who voted in our prediction poll, have gone for a Real win whereas 20% are plumping for a draw and 10% for a famous away win.

The game is scheduled for a 7.45pm GMT kick-off and will be broadcast live in the UK on ITV.
