A selection of the key facts, figures and statistics ahead of the league fixture with Crystal Palace…

Another Premier League outing for Liverpool FC is fast approaching and, as per usual, we’ve been trawling the record books to bring you all the facts, figures and statistics you need to know.

The Merseysiders return to action on Saturday against a much-improved Crystal Palace side now managed by their former boss Roy Hodgson.

Here’s what caught our eye:

? Liverpool and Palace have contested 51 competitive matches during their respective histories with Liverpool leading overall courtesy of 26 wins to 14 defeats and 11 draws (source: 11v11.com).

? Liverpool have won three of the last four meetings (L1) and won the reverse fixture at Anfield 1-0 in August.

? Jürgen Klopp‘s men have won the last three league and cup clashes staged at Selhurst Park, scoring at least twice on each occasion.

? Palace’s last three triumphs over the Reds have all come at Anfield where Liverpool have gone 18 Premier League matches unbeaten since their 2-1 reversal to the Londoners in April 2017.

? There has not been a goalless draw between these two in the league since December 1994 – 14 matches ago.

? The Eagles ended a run of four straight defeats with a win away to relegation rivals Huddersfield Town prior to the international break. Hodgson’s side are now two points clear of the bottom three.

? Although that is their only win in their last eight league fixtures (D2, L5), Palace have become much harder to beat of late, losing by the odd goal to Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Chelsea during the period.

? Palace have managed to score only 30 goals in their 31 Premier League fixtures this term and have only notched more than two goals in one of their 35 league and cup contests; a 3-0 win at Leicester City back in December that was aided by a red card.

? Following their 5-0 thumping of Watford last time out, Liverpool are back up to third in the table; seven points clear of fifth but having played a game more than all of their top six rivals.

? Luka Milivojevic has scored more penalties than any other Premier League player this season (six).

? Roberto Firmino (three assists) and Mohamed Salah (four assists) have combined for seven goals in the Premier League this season – the joint-most by any duo, level with Sadio Mané (six assists) and Salah (one assist).

? Salah is one goal shy of matching Didier Drogba’s 2009/10 29-goal record for most goals scored by an African in a Premier League season.

? The Egyptian, who registered four in the win over Watford, has 36 to his name in all competitions – already the most by a single player in their debut season for Liverpool.
