Which players are likely to be unavailable when Liverpool take on AFC Bournemouth this weekend?…

Cameroonian defender Joël Matip is making good progress in his recovery from the thigh injury that has ruled him out of the last three matches, but Sunday’s trip to the South Coast will come too soon for a return.

Adam Lallana, who has made just one brief appearance this season following a pre-season thigh injury, could be involved in some capacity though after returning to full training this week.

One definite inclusion in the starting X1 will be Simon Mignolet after a minor knock handed Loris Karius a rare league outing between the sticks against West Bromwich Albion in midweek.

With Emre Can serving a one-match ban after collecting his 5th booking of the season against the Baggies, captain Jordan Henderson is also set for a return to the line-up.

Joe Gomez, James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Dominic Solanke are amongst those pushing for inclusion should Kop boss Jürgen Klopp rotate again with Liverpool playing their third game in eight days.

Defenders Nathaniel Clyne (back) and Alberto Moreno (ankle) remain out and it would be a surprise to see Daniel Sturridge (hamstring) involved too.

AFC Bournemouth have no fresh injury concerns ahead of this match.

Their only two notable absentees therefore are defenders Tyrone Mings (back) and Brad Smith (hip), the latter of whom is a former Liverpool man.

Mings has recently seen a specialist after suffering a setback in his recovery from a problem first sustained back in September.
