Speaking to ESPN FC, pundit Alejandro Moreno has tipped Liverpool to attract Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele as a potential attacking alternative to Timo Werner – citing Jurgen Klopp’s influence as a major factor which could reignite the forward’s career.

Dembele, who has suffered through injury issues this campaign, resulting in a lack of playing time, is currently being linked with a move away from the Camp Nou – with Liverpool now being touted as a potential Premier League destination.

The Frenchman signed for Barca in a £135.5 million deal back in the summer of 2017 after an impressive breakthrough at Borussia Dortmund, going on to amass 74 appearances for the club in all competitions.

Over that period, Dembele has bagged an impressive 19 goals and 17 assists from out wide according to Transfermarkt, and due to recent events, his price tag has dramatically dropped.

Indeed, as per the Daily Mail, his valuation has stooped to just £37 million – under a third of the fee Barca originally paid to capture his signature.

Long-time striking target Werner is now odds-on to join Premier League rivals Chelsea following our decision to back out of a would-be deal, with Dembele emerging as a credible alternative addition.

Described as ‘frightening‘ by teammate and footballing icon Lionel Messi, Dembele appears to possess sky high potential.

The Argentine also called him a ‘phenomenon‘ in an exclusive with Spanish news outlet Sport, and now ESPN pundit Moreno has tipped Liverpool as a likely destination.

Whether or not we land the starlet remains to be seen, especially given manager Klopp’s stance on marquee signings, but he could be one to consider for the future.
