The midfield is a certain area of improvement, but the defence needs to be looked at. According to Fichajes, Liverpool is interested in signing 20-year-old center-back Josko Gvardiol.
Gvardiol currently plays for RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga. However, many Premier League clubs are interested in getting his signature. He currently participates in the FIFA World Cup with his national side Croatia.
Before joining the Bundesliga side, Gvardiol was linked with a move to the Premier League. It will be intriguing to see whether Liverpool or any other club can entice him away from the Bundesliga. His current contract runs till 2027, meaning that any movement might likely involve a hefty transfer fee.

Gvardiol has shown a lot of promise and a high ceiling. He has shown all the abilities to become a world-class defender. He is versatile and can play at center-back and left-back, making him an excellent option for teams that like to maintain a certain amount of uncertainty or change tactics midgame.
Liverpool could need additional defensive talent, and the 20-year-old would be a wise long-term investment. Current center-backs Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip will be 32 years old by the time the next season starts. Joe Gomez will most likely continue his rotational role. This means Ibrahima Konate will need a long-term partner and Gvardiol seems fit to play that role for Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp.
There is a lot of transfer interest in this Croatian, and it will be interesting to see if Liverpool can beat the competition amidst all the administrative changes that they are going to be through and sign this defender in the coming transfer window.
