I’m starting to believe that, after a twenty-nine year sabbatical, Liverpool Football Club will finally be declared top-flight champions once again.
I know it’s foolish to count your chickens before they’ve hatched but the manner in which things are currently turning out, convinces me this is our year.
Take last night for example.
Manchester City travelled to the north east to take on Newcastle United, looking to cut our gap at the top of the table to one-point.
However, Newcastle United ripped up the form books and beat Pep Guardiola’s side 2-1.
That result leaves Liverpool with the marvellous opportunity, this evening, to stretch that lead at the top to seven points, if they can beat Leicester City.
Cheered on by a vociferous Anfield crowd we fully expect Liverpool to win and hopefully an early goal will settle any nerves.
