Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson deserves more respect says this England star

Liverpool captain, Jordan Henderson, deserves more respect according to his England teammate, Jude Bellingham.

The 19-year-old set up Henderson for the opener in England’s 3-0 victory against Senegal on Sunday evening, a win which saw the Three Lions progress into the World Cup quarter-finals.

The Reds have been constantly linked with a move for the teenager, and his stunning performances have attracted a lot of attention but the Dortmund star claims it is in fact Jordan Henderson who deserves more credit and respect.

Speaking on ITV’s coverage of the game, Bellingham claimed: “I’ve seen some of the rubbish that was said about him playing. It’s ridiculous, he’s so underrated technically and delivered in a big game so I think it’s about time he gets respect.”

The England vice-captain has always been highly rated by nearly every manager he has played for, making 465 appearances for Liverpool, scoring 39 goals for the club as well as 72 caps for England, so there is obviously a lot of quality that perhaps isn’t spoke about enough amongst football fans.

In a generation where every fan wants the flashy players like Phil Foden, Mason Mount and James Maddison, it’s nice to see a more traditional midfielder like Hendo doing well.
