Ben Woodburn looks set to leave Liverpool this summer, with his contract nearing its end and limited opportunities to play at the club.

Woodburn was destined for big things at Anfield but has failed to live up to his initial hype, unfortunately sinking into the depths of the squad and being plagued by injuries along the way.

In spite of that, Woodburn enjoyed a solid season in Scotland with Hearts during the 2021/22 campaign; helping the Edinburgh club reach the Scottish Cup Final.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Hearts are ready to offer the 22-year-old a long-term contract at the club with the Welshman more than happy to make the move permanent.

A move away from Anfield seems to be a solid one for Woodburn, who managed to establish himself at Hearts last season; the first time he has been able to do so during his career.

He scored three goals and assisted twice in 30 appearances for the Scottish club, however, only 14 of those were starts.

If a move to Hearts fails to transpire there are several other clubs from Greece, Croatia and the English Championship rumoured to be in contention for the youngster’s signature.

Woodburn will be remembered by Liverpool as being their youngest ever goalscorer, at just 17 years old he bagged a sensational goal against Leeds United in 2016.
