Lots of Liverpool fans have been reacting on social media to reports by The Times, claiming Wolverhampton Wanderers will demand £135million for star winger Adama Traore.
It is thought Traore could be on the move in the summer transfer window, with Manchester City considering stepping up their long-standing interest in the Spaniard following Leroy Sane’s £54.8m move to Bayern Munich.
Wolves will not part ways with their prized asset on the cheap, however, and will demand a sensational fee for the 24-year-old who has scored four times and assisted a further nine goals over 35 Premier League appearances this season.
News of Wolves’ valuation has caused Liverpool fans to flock to social media following previous links between the Anfield outfit and Traore’s signature.
It had been claimed that the Reds made their interest in a potential transfer very clear earlier in the year and even tabled an offer to Wolves, though it was not disclosed as to how much Jurgen Klopp’s Premier League champions had put forward.
Where the reports of a £135m price tag leaves Liverpool’s advances remain to be seen, with it also not noted how the Black Country side responded to the Reds’ bid, but fans of the title-winners are not keen to see the latest valuation met.
For some Liverpool fans, they point to the Molineux outfit’s alleged asking price for Traore being vastly more than Chelsea paid for former Liverpool target Timo Werner, who agreed to join Frank Lampard’s side at Stamford Bridge from RB Leipzig in a deal worth €53m (£47.6m) after a 28 goal, eight assist Bundesliga campaign.
Wolves’ valuation of Traore is also more than Borussia Dortmund are believed to be demanding for England ace Jadon Sancho, who they feel would be worth £120m in the upcoming window.
Many Liverpool supporters certainly do not feel Traore would be worth anywhere near as much as Wolves are said to be after, despite the winger recording a Premier League high 174 successful dribbles (74.04% success rate) this season, per Sofa Score data.
Traore has also delivered 43 accurate crosses (24.57%), played 227 accurate final third passes, registered 46 key passes, created 10 big chances to score and won 282 ground duels (62.39%).
£135m the price tag on Adama Traore, he’s good but not that good, that’s the thing with buying from the Premier league, inflated prices everyone is on the hustle

Wolves asking price ends any talk of Traore. I said 2 weeks back that talk of getting him for 60 million was wishful thinking

Makes Werner look cheap now.

While a lot of Liverpool fans noted their dismay at Wolves’ asking price, one has noted how Sane’s move to Bayern Munich for an initial £44.7m rising to £54.8m with add-ons set the market for wingers this summer.
Sane’s contract at Manchester City was due to expire at the end of next season, and rejected new terms at the Etihad Stadium as the Sky Blues refused to get close to the estimated £20m-a-year the German will receive at Bayern.
Sane 50 Mill. That’s the benchmark. Wolves don’t need or have to sell so that price puts everyone off..

News of Traore being valued at £135m has also led a few Liverpool fans to ponder who they could sign instead, with names like Newcastle United’s Allan Saint-Maximin and Wolves’ Pedro Neto mentioned.
Saint-Maximin has enjoyed a great debut season in the Premier League, having stood out with the division’s third-most successful dribbles (116, 62.65%), 33 key balls and eight big chances created for four assists, per Sofa Score.
How much Newcastle value Saint-Maximin remains to be seen, given they signed him last summer for £16.5m rising to £20m and will be sure to value him much higher than that now.
Would rather spend a fraction of that on Neto. Lads got potential.

I honestly think that Saint Maximin would do better in our team than Traore would, he is such an underated player.
