According to a report from Football Insider, Liverpool are edging closer to tying down midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum to a new bumper contract ahead of our impending 2020/2021 title defence – with supporters since going on to applaud the ‘good news‘ whilst hoping this report is true. 

Wijnaldum, starting 29 Premier League games this season under manager Jurgen Klopp, has been a mainstay during the Reds’ brilliant title challenge – with the club now reportedly making significant progress as they look to offer the Dutchman a new deal.

The 29-year-old, averaging a superb 90.9% pass accuracy in the league, is ‘expected’ to sign for at least four more years as per Football Insider – with the 62-cap international keen to end his career at a club where he will earn playing time.

This has reportedly been the club’s promise and a deal breaker for Wijnaldum to put pen to paper, with supporters going on to hail the news on Twitter.
