The Swiss start was a great creator when he had the ball at his feet. He just Was unable to fit right into the first team at Liverpool. Shaqiri made a total of 63 appearances for Liverpool and he found the back of the net a total of eight times. A couple of those goals were crucial goals against Manchester United.

Shaqiri is currently part of the Switzerland World Cup team. He is one of the few players who can boast of having represented his national side at four different World Cups. They play their opening game against Cameroon on Thursday 24th November. Shaqiri is expected to start for the Swiss team.

He also did mention in an interview with the Athletic that he is still watching and following how his compatriots at Liverpool and keeping a tab on how they are fairing. Shaqiri said “Liverpool will always stay in my heart. I’ll always cherish those memories. I will always follow them.”

He mentioned that he is looking forward to meeting some of his old teammates. Regarding his relationship with his ex-colleagues, he said, “I have always had a good relationship with the two of them, so it will be nice to see them again, he says.”

The ex-Liverpool winger is currently playing in the MLS for Chicago. He has played 29 games and scored seven goals while assisting six. He shifted to the United States after a failed move from Liverpool to Lyon.
