Southampton are reportedly eyeing up a move for out of favour Liverpool right-back Neco Williams, after the Merseyside club stated the 21-year-old would be allowed to leave for the right price.
According to the Mail Sport, Williams is ready to leave Anfield in search of first-team football, after Jurgen Klopp brought in Aberdeen right-back Calvin Ramsay this week.
The report suggests the Reds believe Williams to be worth around £20 million, a potentially steep price for Southampton and a player who only made one Premier League appearance for Liverpool last season.
Liverpool have become renown for getting the best price for players they have moved out of the club in recent years, so it wouldn’t be surprising if they sold Williams for the amount they hope for.
Southampton have made a 'serious' enquiry into signing Welsh full-back Neco Williams, which comes amid interest from Fulham, Nottingham Forest and PSV. Liverpool would be willing to accept a deal worth £20m.

Despite not featuring much in Liverpool’s domestic double-winning campaign, Williams enjoyed a fruitful loan spell at Fulham in the second half of last season, where he helped the club to Premier League promotion.
Southampton will face stiff competition for his signature, Fulham and Nottingham are also reported to be in the race for the Welshman’s signature.
The 21-year-old has an abundance of talent and will undoubtedly add a different dimension to whatever team he joins, but it’s definitely time for him to move on from Anfield.
