Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool have been admirers of Tottenham Hotspurs star winger Son Heung-min. The idea is to make a move for him to help shake things up in the attacking department especially given the number of injuries they are prone to getting. Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz are both long-term absentees in the attacking department and will be back only after the world cup.

Now, if better sense prevails, this transfer seems unlikely. But the fact is, Liverpool is considering an ambitious approach for Son Heung-min. Given that the South Korean is already 30 years old, he is looking to take the next step in his career and push for trophies before he hangs up his boots.

In addition to Liverpool, Real Madrid and Paris Saint Germain are also keen on getting the signature of the star winger. Remember that a few months ago, Liverpool surfaced as a surprise destination for Spurs striker Harry Kane before they signed Darwin Nunez from Benfica.

At 30 years of age, Son does not directly fit the profile of players that the Liverpool owners splash the cash on. However, the goal return ratio and the fact that he will need close to no time to settle can be something that can interest them.

According to CaughtOffside, Liverpool is keeping tabs on the contract situation of Son. His current contract comes to an end in 2025.

According to Transfermarkt estimates, Son’s current value is close to £67.5 million. Knowing the Liverpool hierarchy, this is a tall order for a 30-year-old. However, things can change, and maybe we can see Son with the Lillywhites for the Reds.
