The way Liverpool has started the Premier League is a silver lining to most. Liverpool is ninth in the table and faces Tottenham Hotspur on the weekend in what could end up being one of the most important games of the season for Liverpool.
A win gives Liverpool three precious points and takes it off the top four contenders. In all fairness, Tottenham comes into this game with the upper hand. But the fact that they will be without Son Heung-Min makes the game title slightly in favour of the Reds.
It has been confirmed that Spurs winger Son Heung-Min will miss Sunday’s Premier League game against Liverpool at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. He is expected to undergo surgery on a fractured eye which he sustained during Tottenham’s 2-1 victory over Marseille in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.
The surgery will stabilize the fractured bones around his left eye.
He may also end up missing the World Cup due to this injury. The World Cup starts in less than three weeks.
Liverpool will hope that Son missing the game through injury, and their record of not losing a league game to Spurs in their last nineteen meetings will help them get over the line.
In addition to Son, Cristian Romero, Dejan Kulusevski, and ex-Everton striker Richarlison de Andrade are all expected to miss the clash. In addition, Liverpool will certainly be without Luis Diaz, Joel Matip, Arthur Melo, and Diogo Jota.
