Striker named Liverpool Player of the Month for the first time

|

Liverpool forward, Darwin Nunez, has been named Liverpool’s November Player of the Month- the first time the Uruguayan has won the award. [Liverpool FC]

The striker scored three goals and assisted one goal in three appearances for the Reds in November.

Nunez started the month off with a stoppage-time goal in Liverpool’s 2-0 win against Napoli, after coming off the bench in that game.

The Reds then travelled to Tottenham Hotspur and claimed a massive three points in a 2-1 win.

Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez’s link up really started to flourish, with the number 27 assisting the Egyptian’s opening goal to round off a great team move.

Then in the final game before the World Cup break against Southampton, the 23-year-old had possibly his best game since his move to Anfield in the summer.

Darwin scored twice and could’ve had three or four if it wasn’t for the heroics of Southampton keeper, Gavin Bazunu.

The forward finished above Alisson Becker, who came in second place in the fan vote, and Mohamed Salah who came in at third.

Another honourable mention should be Andy Robertson who was consistently fantastic since coming back from injury, notching two assists in the month as well.

Here are all of Liverpool’s Player of the Month winners so far this season:

August/September- Harvey Elliott

October- Alisson Becker

November- Darwin Nunez
