The Ultimate Liverpool World Cup Preview

|

The Qatar World Cup 2022 starts tomorrow, with seven Liverpool players travelling to the tournament with their countries.

Which Liverpool players will be playing?

Alisson Becker (Brazil)

Fabinho (Brazil)

Trent Alexander-Arnold (England)

Jordan Henderson (England)

Ibrahima Konate (France)

Virgil Van Dijk (Netherlands)

Darwin Nunez (Uruguay)

Who will they play against?

None of the Liverpool players will face each other in the group stage, as they all were named in separate groups.

Alisson and Fabinho’s Brazil will consider their group a favourable one, as they face Serbia, Switzerland and Cameroon.

Trent and Henderson will face Iran, USA and Wales whilst playing for England.

Konate will be facing Denmark, Australia and Tunisia for France.

Virgil Van Dijk and the Netherlands will face the hosts Qatar, Senegal and Ecuador.

And finally, Darwin Nunez will play alongside Liverpool legend Luis Suarez as they face Portugal, South Korea and Ghana.

Who will go the furthest?

In my opinion, I believe Brazil and France have the best chance of going the furthest in the competition, with England not too far behind.

Alisson and Fabinho will no doubt have a big part to play in Brazil’s hunt for yet another World Cup triumph, whilst Konate is expected to play a rotational role for France.

Could we see the trio face off in a Brazil v France final? It’s certainly possible.
