Liverpool may be forced to dip into their transfer wallet again after star midfielder Thiago Alcantara has been ruled out for up to six weeks.

The midfielder suffered the injury in the club’s opening day draw away to Fulham; a disappointing game and performance from the Merseyside club.

The midfield was highlighted as an area to improve over the summer months, nevertheless, Liverpool haven’t made any additions to their engine room so far.

Now, according to CMW, Jurgen Klopp has turned his attention to AC Milan midfield starlet Ismael Bennacer, a silky smooth playmaker who has been causing havoc to opposition teams in Italy.

Although clearly talented, Bennacer’s deep sitting role in AC Milan’s setup doesn’t scream the type of talent Liverpool are looking for in their midfield.

Fans have been screaming for a similar player to Phillippe Coutinho for years since he left the club; a midfielder who pushes forward and scores goals aplenty; Bennacer isn’t this.

The Algeria international contributed two goals and two assists last season in AC Milan’s triumphant Serie A title-winning campaign.

The Reds would be better waiting it out for Jude Bellingham or making a move for Sporting CP’s Matheus Nunes this summer for a more attacking midfield talent.

We don’t want any more starlets. When will Liverpool learn? We sign starlets and Manchester City sign the likes of Jack Grealish and Kelvin Phillips, ridiculous.

Klopp really has a fascination for finishing 2nd in the premier league, doesn’t he?
