After a whirlwind start to the season, one player has managed to keep himself fit and composed throughout – and is yet to fall suit to the injury curse currently consuming the Liverpool squad.

That man would be Andy Robertson, who captained his native Scotland to their first major tournament in 23 years on Thursday night after their victory over Serbia on penalties.

This season the 26-year-old has played every minute of the Reds’ Premier League campaign and is the only player alongside Mo Salah to do so in the Liverpool squad. Given that reason, I think the Scotsman has earned himself a well-earned rest for a few games in both the Premier League and Champions League in place of new boy Kostas Tsimikas, who will likely be wanting to prove himself.

Would you like to see Tsimikas play more?

I think Robertson has been the best left-back in the league for a few seasons now and has become an integral part of the Reds squad – but with the evident injuries to the Liverpool side so far this season after playing so many games, it is only a matter of time before the defender is also injured if he was to carry on playing the way he has been.

Last season, Robertson registered 12 assists in the Premier League from defence, showing his importance, influence, and impact on this Liverpool side – another reason as to why his inclusion in the team has been essential in the club’s recent success.

I believe that if Jurgen Klopp was to give Robertson a break for a few games now, he’d be all the more thankful for it in the long run with Robertson’s fitness to improve – as well as giving the chance to get a proper look at Tsimikas who is yet to really show funs just how good he could be.

What do you think Liverpool fans, does Andy Robertson deserve a rest? Let us know in the comments section below…
