The news of a potential takeover of Liverpool has taken the football world by storm.  Some Liverpool fans are very happy with this news as they believe the new owners can make the club flush with cash and help attract top talent.

With Fenway Sports Group putting Liverpool up for sale the chatter among the Anfield faithful is very mixed. Many fans are happy with the potential takeover from the middle east given the possible influx of money, while some are not too happy citing the human rights violations. What happens is yet to be seen. It is still unclear if FSG is looking to sell the entire club or just a minority stake.

Financial Fair Play not being implemented is one of the major reasons that FSG is looking to sell Liverpool. The club has reached a point where some huge strategic decisions both financial and non-financial will have to be made. These decisions will be key for Liverpool to remain at the top and to scale further.

We have to be able to compliment FSG that they have somewhere acknowledged that they are not in a position to grow this brand further. There does not seem to be a better time to let someone else (with deeper pockets) take the reigns at Liverpool. Battling the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, etc. in the transfer market is not going to be easy.

Also, from an investment perspective, their investment has grown a multitude. They purchased Liverpool for £300 million and are looking to sell them for close to £4 billion.

There are multiple parties that are linked to buying Liverpool. The project is worthy of investment as Liverpool is one of the best-run clubs in England. Do let us know your thoughts regarding the potential of Liverpool’s takeover.
